I am the Branch Manager and RJFS Registered Principal at Hyre Personal Wealth Advisors, which I founded in 2005. With nearly 30 years of experience, my goal is to help clients make wise financial decisions and serve as their financial advocate. Prior to founding Hyre Personal Wealth Advisors, I served as Branch Manager for a large investment bank.
Opening my own firm gave me the freedom to offer a different and better client experience. Traditionally, many financial advisors have focused ONLY on numbers: how much you’ll need and when you’ll need it. But that approach ignores one important truth: we don’t live our lives by numbers, and money itself does not make us happy. In other words, this approach sometimes fails because it largely ignores the emotions that are often involved in making financial decisions, especially during life transitions.
My team and I take a more comprehensive approach…it’s what they call True Wealth. We understand that life transitions are inevitable, so it is our mission to help clients make wise financial decisions BEFORE they face transition and WHILE they are in transition. We help you think clearly, analyze all your options, and avoid making decisions you may later regret.
Outside of the office, I enjoy traveling, but I also savor the time I get to spend at home with my wife Kerry, my son Parker, and daughter Avery. I also enjoy activities such as golf, soccer, and tennis, and of course rooting for The Ohio State Buckeyes. Go Bucks!
I’ve always wanted to take a self-guided sailboat tour from island to island. No agenda, no deadlines - just a boat and a map.
Shark Tank. I enjoy hearing about the business ideas that everyday Americans have. Some are completely off the wall, while others are brilliant, which always makes me ask myself “why didn’t I come up with that?” It is also interesting to hear the feedback and banter from the successful investors who are featured as “sharks” on the show.
“A dream doesn’t become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work.” - Colin Powell
I have never been able to choose a favorite food. It is the hardest question for me, right behind “what is the meaning of life?” Just kidding, but truthfully, there are too many delicious foods to choose from. Cuisine-wise, I enjoy Thai, Indian and Latin American the most, probably because many of the dishes are hot and spicy.

After a 16 year career with Merck, I made the decision to change my profession. While venturing into the unknown is somewhat unnerving, I knew I had to follow my deep rooted desire to make a difference in people’s lives.
When I had the opportunity to join Hyre Personal Wealth Advisors as a Wealth Advisor, I knew right away that this would allow me to pursue my passion for helping others. I truly enjoy what I do and I find fulfillment in being able to develop and implement appropriate plans that help my clients achieve their financial goals. As it turns out, my venture into a new career has been better than I could have imagined.
Outside the office - my wife and I have 3 adult children who all keep us happily engaged in their pursuits, and in March 2013 we became first time grandparents to a beautiful granddaughter. We can hardly contain our excitement. We remain very involved in our local church, and especially enjoy singing in the choir.
“The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.” ― Ralph Waldo Emerson
Thanksgiving. This is the one holiday when we are able to be all together with our families, without the craziness that surrounds the Christmas holiday.
My children. My wife and I are truly blessed to have three remarkable children. Each has found their passion in life and are actively engaged in pursuing their dreams.
“Always pay yourself first”. I remember my parents telling me this from the earliest memories. Usually, it was tied to whenever I earned some money or received monetary gifts. It truly is amazing what a regular, systematic savings plan can grow to over a lifetime.
Australia and New Zealand. My wife and I have a good friend who has traveled to Australia on business several times. Based on his descriptions of the country I would love to take a month to fully explore these two countries.
For 20 years I’ve been helping individuals and business owners plan for their retirement. My role as a Retirement Income Specialist at MetLife gave me a great sense of accomplishment, especially when clients told me they had more confidence and certainty about their future. However, I wanted to do even more to serve them.
My association with Hyre Personal Wealth Advisors allows me to bring an approach to financial planning that’s inclusive and accepting. All are deserving of a comprehensive approach to creating a financial plan that will enable them to reach all of their goals.
Outside of the office, my wife is a dentist and owns her own practice. She has provided me a great deal of insight into the issues dentists and physicians face having a dual role as a medical professional and business owner. With proper planning, we’ve been able to help prioritize and implement practice management, wealth accumulation and asset protection strategies.
We’ve had the pleasure to live in downtown Columbus for the last 13 years and have been thrilled with how much this city has grown. There’s so much more vibrancy and energy now than ever before. We love the festival season, and it’s all within walking distance for us - what a great city!
Growing up in Hawaii, I was introduced to many Pan Asian dishes that I still love. I have to admit, when properly cooked, Spam can be awesome!
I want to see the majesty of our planet from space.
I left Huntington Beach, CA and drove to Ohio with most of my belongings in my SUV for an opportunity with MetLife in 2002. It changed my life and ultimately led me to where I am today.
“Every day is a new beginning. Treat it that way. Stay away from what might have been and look at what can be.” - Marsha Petrie Sue
Helping people better their lives is what motivates me, and I’m fortunate to have many years of progressive experience in roles in the IT and healthcare services industries that have allowed me to do just that. My focus has been on customer success and satisfaction, developing leaders and teams into high performing groups that ultimately exceed expectations and deliver premium quality.
My role at Hyre Personal Wealth Advisors revolves around optimizing our day to day operations, innovating, and implementing culture and strategy that positively impacts our clients and our team members.
Outside of the office, I cherish time with family and friends, enjoying traveling, dining experiences, attending sporting and arts events - and you will almost always find me outdoors - on a walk, hike, on a patio or at the pool. I have 2 amazing sons, Cameron and Parker, and a goofy, lovable rescue dog named Simba.

July 4 - Independence Day. It reminds me to celebrate our freedom and the wonderful country I am grateful to live in and to be a part of our democracy and shaping a brighter world for future generations.
As a team, we at Hyre Personal Wealth, are always thinking about our clients and how we can best serve them. We want you to worry less and enjoy life more. I have worked previously in health care and the event industry always with a client first mentality. My goal is to assist my clients and allow them peace of mind. It just made sense to join the team here with likeminded colleagues. I am looking forward to getting to know our clients and help our team nurture each relationship.

Outside of the Office, when I am not at work you can find me keeping up with my three young kids. They are all in elementary school and their extracurricular sports and social lives keep me on my toes. As a family we enjoy being outdoors, whether that be hiking, kayaking or just taking our dog, Scout, on a walk at a metro park. We also love to travel and explore new places. It sounds cliché but our favorite trip recently as a family was to Disney World, seeing my kids enjoy the magic of Walt Disney was awesome.
I really love food, and desserts especially. But if there is one item I cannot go a day without it’s good coffee. I love coffee not only for the taste and pick me up it provides but also the routine it brings. It’s a chance to take a moment for myself, to sit and savor.
I traveled to the Grand Canyon recently and did a small amount of hiking. I would love to get back one day and make it from rim to rim. It not only is a great feat physically but also an incredible journey; from seeing the canyon as a whole at the top and then actually becoming a part of it to travel to the other side.
I love holidays, getting together with family, cooking, spending time enjoying the day. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be Thanksgiving. There is no pressure for gifts, no expectations, and getting to eat your weight in comfort food makes it my top pick.
I am super excited and grateful to hold the Financial Services Intern role alongside an outstanding team here at Hyre Personal Wealth Advisors.
My passion for Finance developed at a young age through the thought of helping my parents become financially stable for when they retire. From retirement accounts to acquiring rental properties with my father my initiative stayed the same, to learn what my parents were not able to do and help as much as I could.
Fast forward to today, that initiative has not changed rather it has evolved to help as many people as possible. That brought me to Hyre Personal Wealth where I aim to learn from a knowledgeable and experienced team by supporting others with clients and operational support.
Currently, I am a rising Junior at The Ohio State University pursuing a bachelor’s degree in BSBA with a specialization in finance at Ohio State’s Fisher College of Business. Choosing Ohio State was an easy decision for me since I grew up a Buckeye and leaving my family and friends would mean losing people who supported me through my journey, ultimately crafting me to become the person I am today.
My work ethic, determination, and aspirations come from my parents and sisters who beat all the odds to get to where they are. I hope to take after them through the journey of life, making them and myself proud. Outside of applying myself at work and in academics, you will see me spending my time golfing, working out, and spending time with family and friends.
